Job summary

Orion Steel Group in Red Deer, AB, Canada, seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team, oversee equipment upkeep and drive continuous improvement across production operations.

The ideal candidate will have engineering credentials, 5+ years of leadership and industrial experience, and strong knowledge of maintenance, automation, lean manufacturing and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of progressive leadership roles in industry.
  • 5 years of industrial experience, with knowledge of maintenance and automation.
  • Strong leadership and technical knowledge of industrial maintenance.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and safety regulations.
  • Experience in pipe or steel manufacturing, oil patch, heat treatment or welding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance procedures, budget and the maintenance team.
  • Develop and implement best practice maintenance vision, strategy, processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to projects and assess impact on maintenance activities.
  • Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend and manage expenditure.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and deploy the technical skills, resources and systems required to deliver projects.
  • Develop and manage KPIs, report on targets and actions.
  • Prepare the annual maintenance budget and forecasts, and contribute to capex proposals.

Reporting to the Director Operations, Red Deer. The Maintenance Manager will oversee the upkeep and functionality of industrial equipment and facilities, ensuring smooth production operations and minimizing downtime.
