What Your Role Will Be Responsible For:
- Overseeing the maintenance of all production equipment and general facility to reduce downtime, and ensure compliance with food safety initiatives including BRCGS, HACCP, GMPs, and customer-specific requirements such as Costco and Kraft standards
- Optimizing machine performance in line with industry best practices and new technologies
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical devices, replacing defective parts, and adjusting functional parts and control instruments
- Providing technical expertise and operational support as needed to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Collaborating with peers and staff to establish priorities for plant engineering, maintenance, and repair activities
- Developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance plans, and ensuring they are completed on time
- Working with the Director of Operations and COO to manage longer-term maintenance and engineering projects, providing status updates and relevant documentation as required
- Contributing ideas to streamline manufacturing operations or automate tasks, demonstrating a proactive attitude towards innovation
- Communicating with contractors and other third-party service providers, and overseeing the execution of their work, as required
- Preparing and managing annual budgets for maintenance activities and capital expenditures
- Maintaining optimal inventory levels of spare parts to prevent operational disruptions
- Continuously monitoring staff performance and providing timely feedback and coaching through weekly 1 on 1s
- Overseeing staff development initiatives, including the coordination and delivery of training programs
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels within the Maintenance department, including coverage planning and participation in the hiring processes
- Documenting work orders, maintenance tasks, inventory, and other purchasing activities using the CMMS system
- Planning and coordinating the completion of daily maintenance tasks, establishing priorities, and communicating with the maintenance team across all shifts
- Generating and maintaining reports as required for operational and management purposes
- Tracking and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure departmental effectiveness
- Providing on-call support to address urgent maintenance issues outside of regular working hours
What You Need to Bring to Embassy:
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience in maintenance, preferably in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of a secondary school diploma or equivalent industry experience with Millwright License and basic knowledge of electrical work.
- Familiarity with building systems and mechanical systems such as gearboxes, motors, air compressors, pumps, and complex machine controls.
- Hands-on experience with replacing electrical parts and equipment.
- Highly organized with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven initiative and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated experience in managing fast-paced 24/7 operations.
- Negotiation skills and a basic understanding of commercial leases, contract documents, and routine accounting methods.
- Attention to detail, hands-on approach, and a sense of urgency to address issues.
- Intermediate PC skills and mathematical proficiency.
- Proficient in using CMMS systems and holding a valid forklift & Skyjack license.
- A strong understanding of HACCP/GMP/JHSC with flexibility to work all shifts as required.
You Should Be Prepared For:
- Exposure to a high-decibel and dusty environment.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment and Respiratory Protection as per Embassy Ingredient’s procedures.
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 25kg, standing, walking, stooping, and climbing throughout the shift.
- Working with various shop tools, including welding, grinding, and drilling equipment.
