Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Student (Co-op) for a 12-month contract in Hawkesbury, ON.

You will work with the Plant Maintenance team to support preventive and predictive maintenance, develop SOPs, and assist in project management to ensure asset reliability. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration with millwrights and electricians, and the development of maintenance documentation and drawings.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate post-secondary engineering program.
• Committed to health and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Able to read and interpret drawings; proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks is an asset.
• Critical thinking skills and high degree of organization are a must.
• Able to work in a team or independently as required.

Responsibilities

• Work with Plant Maintenance team (Manager, Supervisors, Reliability Engineer, Millwrights, Electricians, etc.).
• Shadow Millwrights and Electricians to create maintenance SOPs and SWIs.
• Assist the Reliability Engineer with review of Preventative (PM) and Predictive (PdM) maintenance activities.
• Develop and refine tasks to ensure assets are properly maintained.
• Perform spare parts optimization in support of PM and PdM inspection tasks.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager with project management including tendering, planning, installation, and commissioning.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineering Student (Co-op position) for a 12 month contract with our team in Hawkesbury, ON.

The Maintenance Engineering Co-op student would work work with their assigned manager to meet strategic corporate initiatives and execute successful capital projects

When you join us, you will:

• Work with the Plant Maintenance team (Manager, Supervisors, Reliability Engineer, Millwrights, Electricians, etc.)
• Shadow Millwrights and Electricians to create maintenance SOPs and SWIs
• Assist the Reliability Engineer with a complete review of all current Preventative (PM) and Predictive (PdM) maintenance activities, developing and refining tasks as required to ensure assets are properly maintained
• Perform spare parts optimization in support of PM and PdM inspection tasks for the highly critical assets
• Assist the Maintenance Manager with project management, including tendering, negotiating, planning, installation, supervision of project, commissioning & project closeout.
• Assist in the preparation of drawings and modeling to be included in projects.
• Work with Millwrights and Electricians to determine the best practices and ensure all vital information collected is transferred to a standard PM template, and drawings are updated as required.
• Work on other engineering related projects to help with plant operations and maintenance
• Performing other duties as assigned

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate post-secondary engineering program

• Able to read and interpret drawings, proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks is an asset.

• Troubleshooting capabilities are an asset.
• Able to work in a team or independently as required.

Hours/ Days / Schedule

The hours of work will be primarily Monday through Friday {40 hours}.
