Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. in Brampton is seeking an Industrial Millwright to maintain production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform preventive maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, and other production machinery. Starting at $45.61 per hour, you will read mechanical drawings, work shifts including extended hours and weekends, and document repairs.

Qualifications

  • Must hold valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License 433A (Red Seal).
  • Must have full set of metric standard tools.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment (≥3 years).
  • Able to read mechanical drawings.
  • Able to work shifts, extended hours and weekends.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to walk/stand 70-90% of the shift.
  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on pumps, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, and other production machineries.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges.
  • Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with planning and closing the loop on work orders in Maximo
  • Record parts and materials used, and order or create requisition for new parts and materials as necessary. Record repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Have interpersonal, problem solving & trouble shooting skills.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
  • Able to walk and/or stand 70-90% of the shift
  • Able to work at heights and in confined space
