Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking an Industrial Millwright to maintain production equipment and ensure reliable operation of pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, and related machinery.

The role reports to Maintenance Supervisor and emphasizes preventive maintenance, safety, and documentation in Maximo. The successful candidate will have a valid Ontario 433A Red Seal license and at least 3 years of manufacturing experience, with the ability to read mechanical drawings and work extended hours as

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Ontario 433A Red Seal license.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Able to read mechanical drawings.
• Able to work shifts, including extended hours and weekends.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operation of machinery by performing preventive maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, and other equipment.
• Identify problems by observing equipment in operation and using measuring tools.
• Dismantle and repair parts using hoists, cranes and hand tools.
• Measure parts with calipers, micrometers to verify tolerances.
• Adjust components using hand tools and levels.
• Fabricate repair parts and assemble new equipment.
• Prepare maintenance reports with data and trends.
• Keep equipment clean, lubricated and aligned.
• Record repairs and parts usage in Maximo.
• Maintain safe, clean working environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on pump, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other production machineries.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges.
• Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
• Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabrication new parts, and assemble new equipment.
• Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
• Assist with planning and closing the loop on work orders in Maximo Record parts and materials used, and order or create requisition for new parts and materials as necessary.
• Record repairs and maintenance performed.
• Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications

• Have a valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License 433A (Red Seal Certificate of Qualifications)
• Have full set of metric standard tools.
• Exposure with mechanical devices, pneumatic controls and welding/cutting.
• Have at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to read mechanical drawings.
• Able to work shifts as well as some extended hours and weekends.
• Have interpersonal, problem solving & trouble shooting skills.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
• Able to walk and/or stand 70-90% of the shift
• Able to work at heights and in confined space
