Job Title : Maintenance Electrician / PLC Programmer

Location : York Region, ON

Length of Assignment : Permanent

Salary : $$

Our client in York Region, ON is actively looking for a Maintenance Electrician / PLC Programmer to join their team.

Position Description :

  1. Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, programmable controllers, relay logic, etc.
  2. Connect power supply to machinery and equipment and connect interface wiring between machinery and equipment.
  3. Diagnose apparatus such as transformers, motors, and light fixtures; replace damaged or broken wiring and fixtures.
  4. Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunctions with management to identify correction options.
  5. Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors; position sensing devices.
  6. Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  7. Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  8. Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  9. Maintain and troubleshoot presses.
  10. Work in a safe manner, familiar with Mytox's policies and procedures.
  11. Work overtime when required; assist as necessary per customer demands.
  12. Organize and clean up the work area and equipment at the end of shifts.
  13. Communicate issues/problems to supervisor or manager effectively.
  14. Be flexible to modify work hours and shifts on short notice as required.
  15. Maintain good English communication skills (both written and verbal).
  16. Possess basic mathematical skills, including computing ratios and percentages.
  17. Have knowledge of WHMIS / GHS regulations.
  18. Exhibit good organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  19. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards outlined in the handbook.
  20. Align work functions with IATF quality management standards, BOS Procedures, and ISO.
  21. Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives.
  22. Maintain a safe, healthful, and environmentally conscious work environment.
  23. Attend training sessions as per Mytox's internal training matrix.
  24. Perform all duties safely, healthfully, and environmentally responsibly, following all relevant rules and regulations.
  25. Perform other duties as assigned or reasonably requested by management.

Skills & Qualifications :

  1. Industrial Trade certification as an Industrial Electrician and/or PLC certification.
  2. Minimum years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  3. PLC programming experience.
  4. Ability to create, manipulate, and follow robot programs for ABB, Fanuc, and Client for repair and modification purposes.
  5. Experience in MIG, Stick, and TIG welding.
  6. Physically fit and able to lift up to (specify weight) lbs.
  7. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic fundamentals and principles.
  8. Certification in one or more robot programming courses (ABB, Fanuc, Client).
  9. Experience with LabVIEW is an asset.
  10. Experience troubleshooting robots.
  11. Overhead crane license.
