Job description

The Maintenance Coordinator for the Kruger Head Office is responsible for the coordination and execution of preventive maintenance tasks and inspection schedules, building renovations, repairs, and exterior maintenance support. The role includes managing scheduled on-site contractor work and ensuring compliance with health and safety programs. The Coordinator promotes a safety culture aligned with Company objectives.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of the Maintenance Coordinator is to support the Head Office building maintenance while ensuring safety standards meet or exceed regulatory requirements.

The Coordinator ensures that all preventive maintenance and inspections are completed on schedule, communicates and addresses corrective actions promptly, and participates in construction projects within approved budgets. They also support ongoing exterior and interior maintenance activities throughout the year.

In collaboration with the Health and Safety Committee, the Coordinator ensures compliance with safety programs by reporting incidents, updating documentation, communicating emergency plans, managing contractors and evacuations, and fostering a safety culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Plan, schedule, and execute construction work such as office renovations, flooring, plastering, painting, and wall divisions within the approved budget.
• Manage contractors and ensure safety compliance.
• Perform repairs following preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Handle interior and exterior maintenance tasks, e.g., snow removal, asphalt patching, spill cleanup.
• Support landscaping tasks as needed.
• Create, communicate, and manage emergency action plans and first aid responses.
• Maintain safety records and documentation per policies and regulations.
• Update Standard Operating Procedures.
• Support incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
• Conduct safety and preventive maintenance inspections to identify hazards.
• Assist in implementing operational and design improvements.
• Manage safety service suppliers for fire protection, first aid, PPE, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC

• Class 5 driver’s license with a clean record.
• DEP is an asset.
• Certifications in First Aid, Confined Space, Lockout Tagout, Fall Protection.

EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Oracle/JDEdwards.
• Understanding of Québec health and safety laws.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Autonomous and team-oriented worker.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

LANGUAGE

Bilingual in English and French
