Johnson Electric in Ancaster, ON is seeking a Millwright / Electrical Co-op Student to join our maintenance team on-site. You will report to the maintenance supervisor and gain hands-on experience with electrical schematics, PLC/HMI support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidates pursuing a technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Mechatronics, with prior co-op or hands-on experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills, are invited to

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a technical degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology/Mechatronics or equivalent.
  • Co-op experience in a similar role is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Independent and self-motivated with the ability to multitask.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical systems is a plus.
  • Committed to meeting deadlines and priority changes as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Troubleshooting skills and effective written/spoken communication.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring adherence to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001 Johnson Electric policies.
  • Working with the maintenance team of the company.
  • Interacting with production operators, technicians and key resources to aid documentation and process improvement.
  • Create and update our PM system.
  • Create & maintain documentation for new and existing assembly lines.
  • Creating and updating electrical schematics for new and current projects.
  • PLC and HMI programming support – working with automation technicians.
  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Working toward a technical degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology/Mechatronics or equivalent
  • Experience in a similar previous co-op considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Hands on experience is a PLUS
  • Committed to meeting deadline requirements
