Job summary

GFL is seeking a Maintenance Apprentice to join our shop in Canada. You will receive on-the-job training performing inspections, preventative maintenance, and assist with minor repairs to keep our fleet safe and reliable.

You will learn DOT-compliant maintenance procedures, work with experienced mechanics, and contribute to daily tasks such as paperwork, tire work, fueling, and supporting inventory control.

Qualifications

• No experience required, on-the-job training provided.
• Must be able to read and follow technical manuals.
• Strong attention to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform limited repairs and preventive maintenance such as oil changes.
• Document parts usage and repair times.
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections and report deteriorations.
• Assist mechanics with repairs and projects.
• Tire inspections and replacements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist in maintaining inventory and reporting in M5 program.
