Safran is hiring a CNC Machinist in Mirabel, QC to operate lathes, milling machines and multi-axis CNC centers for landing gear components. You will verify parts, perform machining, and inspect against specifications while supporting continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Verify, prepare, and perform the assembly of parts.

• Organize work and prioritize tasks based on production instructions.
• Review technical documents on the computer and complete QA documentation when needed.

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a world leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to the manufacturing of major components for landing gear for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot blasting, and surface treatments.

Required

You will manufacture landing gear components using high-tech equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and multi-axis CNC machining centers. More specifically, you will be required to:

• verify, prepare, and perform the assembly of the part
• carry out machining operations according to the machining range
• resolve technical problems or, if necessary, provide solutions to method technicians and CNC programmers
• inspect the part to ensure compliance with specifications and take necessary measures if abnormal situations are detected
• organize your work and prioritize tasks based on instructions received regarding parts to be processed first.
• review technical documents on the computer such as work drawings, operation sheets, procedures, and complete, if necessary, the appropriate quality assurance documentation.
• ensure that tools/jigs and equipment are in good condition
• inform technicians of the conditions of operations (tools, assembly, documentation, CNC programs, data) and make suggestions for improvement
• assist technicians with improvement projects and development
• contribute to the continuous improvement of operations and achieving team objectives in terms of safety, quality, costs, and on-time deliveries

Weekend Night Shift: from Friday to Saturday from 8 PM to 7 AM, from Saturday to Sunday from 6:40 PM to 6:40 AM, and from Sunday to Monday from 6:20 PM to 12:20 AM.

Note: Depending on the collective agreement rules, the position may change shifts (evening, night, or weekend day).

• Compensation for this position starts between $31.18 and $45.12 per hour, depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications. With internal training and your progression in acquiring skills related to the position, the hourly wage will increase up to a maximum of $48.97.
