Job summary

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions in Ontario is seeking a Machinist Helper to learn from an experienced CNC Machinist and support milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other tooling in a busy shop.

You will read blueprints, follow instructions, and assist with inspection records while building skills toward more advanced machining tasks in a structured ISO 9001 environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with welding and fabrication is an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced shop.
• Effective communication and teamwork are essential.
• Follow written SOPs and instructions to perform tasks.
• Demonstrate attention to detail in machining tasks.
• Experience in ISO 9001 environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up, operating and maintaining CNC tools for precision machining.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Assist in maintenance and repair of machining equipment.
• Detect equipment malfunctions and adjust machines.
• Maintain inspection records and reports.

Overview

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Machinist Helper assists and learns from an experienced CNC M achinist. The Machinist Helper will learn to operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, sanders, and other various machining tools, as well as assist in the repair and maintenance of machining equipment according to company plans, blueprints and other diagram s.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up, operating and maintaining a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, precision grinding and other operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints/drawings
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of machining equipment
• Assist with detecting equipment malfunctions and adjust machines
• Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Comply with company ISO quality program and procedures, company policies and safety regulations.
• Assist with maintaining inspection records and completion of inspection reports.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of industry standards and practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
