You will read drawings, set up and operate lathes, mills and grinders, and ensure precision parts for blue‑chip projects are produced to tight tolerances.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an Apprenticeship Program for Machinist and holds a General Machinist 429A Certificate of Qualification.
  • Minimum 1–3 years direct working experience with machining environments.
  • Ability to set up, program and operate HAAS CNC and ACU-RITE NC knee milling machines.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, determine work and repair procedures.
  • Set up and operate to prescribed tolerances on lathes, mills, surface grinders and saws.
  • Select measuring tools, execute measuring and layout operations.
  • Perform metal removing operations and assemble parts for machinery.
  • Mentor and lead Apprentices and Junior Machinists (for senior levels).

Prodomax Automation Ltd. is currently seeking a MACHINIST to join our team.

Located in Barrie, Ontario, Prodomax is a specialized industrial engineering firm focused on designing complex automation with a blue-chip customer base since 1971. Operating from two facilities totaling 200,000 square feet with 200+ employees; we are ISO 9001:2015 certified.

The Opportunity

The Machinist will be responsible for manufacturing components in a machine shop environment and will report directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Your level within the role will be determined by the skills and experience you bring when taking on this exciting career opportunity.

Junior:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret drawings and determine work and/or repair procedures

  • Perform metal removing operations using hand and power cutting tools
