Job summary

Prodomax Automation Ltd. is seeking a Robotics Technician to join our automation team.

The role evolves through Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels, with responsibilities expanding from basic robot programming to independent leading small projects. You will work within an automation environment reporting to the Robotics Supervisor, collaborating with controls, electrical, mechanical, and project management teams across multiple robot brands.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Robotics, or related field of study and/or equivalent industry experience.
• Engineering degree or technical diploma is a plus with relevant hands-on experience.
• Experience working in fast-paced multi-discipline environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with robot programming and motion planning activities under supervision.
• Set up basic I/O structure, robot start-up, and communication networks.
• Support project robotic activities across controls, electrical, mechanical teams.
• Contribute to the progression from junior to intermediate level by taking on more complex tasks.
• Work with multiple robot brands (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, Nachi, Panasonic, Kuka).
• Travel globally and work overtime as required.

The Opportunity

The Robotics Technician will provide robotic programming solutions in an automation environment. This position will report directly to the Robotics Supervisor. Your level within the role will be determined by the skills and experience you bring when taking on this exciting career opportunity. Responsibilities are noted as you progress within the role.

Junior:

Job Responsibilities:

• Possess a basic understanding of robot programming and motion planning.
• Possess a basic understanding of at least two different robot types.
• Possess a basic ability to set up I/O structure, robot start-up, and communication networks with minimal supervision.
• Responsible for all programming activities under supervision of team lead.
• Able to follow directions regarding robotic activities and assist other trades where required.
• Assist with project robotic activities and assist others (controls, electrical, mechanical and project management) through to project completion.

Job Qualifications:

• College diploma in Robotics, or related field of study and/or equivalent industry experience.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment alongside multiple disciplines
• Basic understanding of Mig, resistance welding would be an asset.

Intermediate:

Job Responsibilities:

• Possess an average knowledge of robot programming and motion planning
• An average understanding with most robotic manufacturer’s equipment (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, Nachi, Panasonic, Kuka)
• Experience in robot simulation and offline programming software
• Possess the ability to set up I/O structure, robot start-up, and Ethernet IP networks
• Responsible for all programming activities and direct robotic tasks under supervision of team lead
• Participate in meetings for tooling design and development and work with the Applications Group
• Possess an average understanding of welding (mig, spot, laser and projection) and the ability to set up and perfect weld schedules
• Assist with project robotic activities and assist others (controls, electrical, mechanical and project management) through to project completion

Job Qualifications:

• Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma
• 5 plus years of practical experience
• College diploma in Robotics, or related field of study and/or equivalent industry experience.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment alongside multiple disciplines
