Job summary

Washington Mills is seeking a skilled Millwright Class 1 to support maintenance across our Niagara Falls, Ontario facility. You will install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery, performing preventive and corrective maintenance to keep equipment running safely and reliably.

We value hands-on technical ability, independence, teamwork, and a strong safety mindset, with a certificate (Millwright 433A) and several years of experience in heavy industry.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and material-handling equipment.
• Inspect equipment and identify maintenance issues.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine repairs.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
• Perform alignment, leveling, rigging and installation as required.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble components.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Follow lockout/tagout and site safety protocols.

Pay Range: $47.53 per hour

What You’ll Do

Millwright Class 1 is responsible for repairing, adjusting, servicing, overhauling, and installing plant machinery and equipment. You will install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical systems across the facility.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and material-handling equipment
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance issues
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repairs
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications
• Perform alignment, leveling, rigging, and equipment installation as required
• Dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble mechanical components
• Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and other maintenance equipment
• Support equipment shutdowns, overhauls, and planned maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all site-specific safety protocols
• Rotate weekly after-hours on-call and carry a pager

What You’ll Need

To be successful in this position, you must:

• Hold an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright 433A) Certificate
• Have 3+ years of manufacturing or heavy industrial experience
• Supply your own tools
• Carry out work independently and work well in a team environment
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills with welding
• Show strong commitment to safety and follow all procedures
