Job Summary: Apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to the work order specifications using advanced machinery or having an advanced level of skill in the use of warehouse machinery. Ensure that processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition. Maintain processing area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Complete all required information entry accurately. Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain or repair equipment where applicable.
- Produce parts for the production line as specified.
- Complete and maintain paperwork.
- Resolve/notify production issues.
- Ensure machine calibration & cleaning as per 6S standards.
- Ensure the working environment is clean and safe.
- Report inaccuracies in bill of material & routings.
- Perform quality control spot inspections and measure parts to confirm specifications.
- Identify & implement process improvements.
- Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.
- Maintain proper logins for computer systems.
- Meet labor performance requirements of job routings.
- Count parts being completed.
- Assist other shop areas if production slows, including but not limited to grinding, hardware, packaging, assembly, shake-out, deburring, cutting, machine loading, tapping.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Create and load bending programs.
- Load tooling as required by the bend program.
- Sharpen and maintain tools per manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain catalog of tooling and order replacements as needed.
- Perform general maintenance including oil changes, maintaining punches and dyes, and cleaning the brake press.
Physical Demands:
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Wearing certified steel-toed shoes at all times is required.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience working with brake presses, preferably Trumpf brake presses.
- Experience programming brake presses is an asset, especially Trumpf Boost experience.
- Understanding of forming technology and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to learn additional machine operation.
- Role will transition to a night shift from 3:30 pm to 1:30 am.
