Job summary

Teledyne FLIR, a global leader in thermal imaging and vision systems, is seeking an SMT Operator at our Richmond, BC facility. You will set up and run SMT production equipment, load materials, inspect products, and perform testing to ensure high-quality outputs.

The role emphasizes precision workmanship, teamwork, and ongoing process improvements within a supportive, globally operating manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and learn new equipment and processes.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity with small components and tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs (9 kg).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience with PCBA soldering and SMT component rework (preferred).
  • Experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate SMT production equipment, including solder paste printers and pick-and-place machines.
  • Load materials and prepare components for production runs.
  • Perform visual inspections and identify product defects.
  • Conduct testing, review results, and package finished products.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs on SMT equipment and production tools.
  • Organize, track, and store raw materials, including reels and PCBs.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve production issues and drive process improvements.
  • Report quality concerns and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and product quality.

Salary Range

$46,100.00-$61,400.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
