Job summary

Eaton in Milton, Ontario is seeking a Machine Operator to set up and run fabrication equipment for standard and custom panel boards and switch boards. You will follow drawings, training, and procedures to ensure accurate production while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires basic high school education and fabrication experience, with work crafted around a 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM schedule. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada; relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required.
  • At least one year of fabrication experience operating shearing, punching or bending machines.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit; candidates within 80 km of Milton, ON will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate machine(s) including shearing, punching and bending per training and SOPs.
  • Perform pre-start safety checks and report concerns to supervisor.
  • Carry out simple preventative maintenance tasks as required.
  • Setup machines to ensure guards/interlocks/light curtains are working and hazards are eliminated.
  • Run Dynamic Machine Management software (DMM) and view prints in Enovia/Vault to fabricate parts.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:The Machine Operator’s (Bus Feeder) primary function is to setup and operate fabrication equipment used for the production of parts for standard and custom panel boards & switch boards to support both internal and external customers.Position Overview:• Safely operate Machine(s) (including shearing, punching and bending) based on on-the-job training, standardized operating procedures, detailed work instructions and manufacturer’s requirements.• Pre-start safety check for machine and supporting equipment and advise supervisor of any concerns.• Perform simple preventative maintenance tasks as required.• Setup machine to ensure all guards/interlocks/light curtains are in working order and pinch points and/or potential hazards are eliminated.• Run and operate Dynamic Machine Management software (DMM).• Run and operate drawing vault software (Enovia, Vault etc.) to view and print drawings for fabrication purposes. Work from drawings, sketches, manufacturing information to determine dimensions as well as from written or verbal instruction from supervisor.• Determine the sequence of operations and feed material through machine.• Ensure completed production orders are kept in an organized manner; through utilizing proper bin selection, tagging, pallet sizes and routed to the next operation.• Monitor operation of machines to clear blockage, prevent jams and breakage and assure adequate lubrication of feed stock.• Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:• Completed high school diploma.• Minimum one year of fabrication experience operating at least one of the following: shearing, punching and/or bending machines.• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within an 80 km radius of Milton, ON will be considered.Skills:Position Criteria:• Ability to read and understand basic drawings and layouts.• Good digital skills, including MS Office (Word & Excel).• Demonstrated ability to work safely, on multiple projects, in a manufacturing environment.• Good problem solving, mathematical skills and troubleshooting ability.• Good communication and organizational skills.All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
