St. Joseph-Scollard Hall in Canada seeks a Long Term Occasional teacher for Grade 9 Religion (HRE1O) in a virtual format, plus Cooperative Education (DCO3O) for two sections. Semester 1, 1.0 position, November 2, 2026 to approx.

Dec 4, 2026 with possible extension to Feb 5, 2027. The successful candidate will use Google Classroom, G-Suite and EdSby to facilitate instruction and parent communication, differentiate instruction, and promote inclusion and student well-being.

Qualifications

• Honours degree and/or subject qualification(s) in the specified or related subject areas would be considered an asset.
• Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed division and subject areas.
• Knowledge and experience with LMS tools such as Google Classroom, G-Suite and EdSby to support instruction and parent communication.
• Ability to implement differentiated instructional approaches and inclusive practices.

Responsibilities

• Teach Grade 9 Religion – HRE1O (Virtual) for one section and Cooperative Education – DCO3O for two sections.
• Collaborate with colleagues through PLCs and department meetings to support Student Achievement Plan.
• Incorporate Catholic education principles and Graduate Expectations into the curriculum.
• Be flexible to teach additional subject areas as needed and participate in extra-curricular duties.

1.0 (Three Sections – Semester 1)

Grade 9 Religion – HRE1O – Virtual – One Section

Cooperative Education– DCO3O – Two Sections

Effective November 2, 2026 until approx. December 4 , 2026 and not to extend beyond February 5, 2027

Requirements

• Basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate and Senior Divisions – Cooperative Education
• Honours degree and/or subject qualification(s) in the specified or related subject areas would be considered an asset
• Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed division and subject areas.
• Special Education Part I would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents.
• Demonstrated knowledge of how students learn effectively with a repertoire of proven instructional and assessment practices.
• Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and collaboration around the school's Student Achievement Plan through school-based PLC's, department meetings, co-planning and co-teaching.
• Knowledge, experience and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom that support well-being, equity and inclusion.
• Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies.
• Ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic education and integrating the Catholic Graduate Expectations within the curriculum.
• Flexibility to be assigned in other subject areas as the need arises.
• Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties.
• Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school community.
