Job summary

Christenson Communities seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (Casual) to provide resident-focused care in Village at Westmount, Edmonton, AB. The LPN will work within the full scope of practice, support staff, and ensure timely medication management and safety for residents.

The role requires current CLPNA registration and CPR/BCLS. Experience in gerontology preferred; strong leadership, communication and teamwork are essential for success in this home-like setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with gerontology experience preferred
• Current CLPNA membership in good standing required
• CPR/BCLS certification for healthcare providers required
• Strong leadership, communication, teamwork and customer service skills
• Good organizational abilities and computer skills; problem solving and self-education
• Awareness of safety, hazard identification and patient-centered care

Responsibilities

• Deliver resident-focused care within LPN scope of practice in a home-like setting
• Supervise and evaluate care delivery and direct healthcare aides
• Place pharmacy calls to order prescriptions and manage nursing supplies
• Educate residents and families on procedures and coping strategies
• Assist in emergencies under supervisor direction
• Maintain ongoing clinical knowledge and participate in trainings and staff meetings
