Job summary

Your area of focus.

In this position, the Sales Lot Attendant will support both the Sales and Service departments by maintaining lot organization, vehicle presentation, and customer support services. Core responsibilities include vehicle detailing, organizing inventory through the reconditioning process, transporting customers and dealer trades, and performing general lot and shop upkeep. Success in this role requires strong physical capabilities, attention to detail, and a safe driving record to ensure vehicles are properly prepped, inspected, and presented to dealership standards.

What drives your day-to-day?

• Lot & Inventory Management
  • Maintain daily organization and parking layout for all sales and service department vehicles.
  • Monitor and track vehicles through the reconditioning process to ensure steady progress.
  • Ensure test-drive vehicles are prepped, fully fueled/charged, clean, and staged for customer appointments.
  • Place promotional signage, price tags, and advertising banners on vehicles as directed.
  • Organize, secure, and track dealership keys, remotes, and trade license plates.
  • Pick up parts from the Parts Department and assist with shop deliveries as needed.
  • Perform regular lot counts and inventory audits to assist sales staff with tracking stock.

Vehicle Care & Battery Maintenance

• Perform interior and exterior detailing, including vacuuming, washing, deodorizing, and polishing.
• Keep showroom displays and frontline inventory smudge-free and customer-ready.
• Clean vehicle exteriors according to seasonal needs (e.g., snow and ice removal, dust clearing).
• Remove protective transit coverings and ID tags prior to vehicle delivery.
• Monitor vehicle battery health across the lot, performing jump-starts or trickle-charging as needed.
• Check tire pressure and top off basic fluids (like windshield washer fluid) on frontline display cars.

Customer Support & Transport

• Provide safe shuttle transportation for customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Perform dealer trade deliveries to neighboring dealerships and customer home deliveries.
• Drive vehicles to and from external vendor locations for specialized repairs or accessories.

Security, Safety & Facility Maintenance

• Perform end-of-day security checks: lock up vehicles, secure key boxes, and close lot gates.
• Ensure all vehicle windows, sunroofs, and trunks are fully closed during bad weather.
• Inspect vehicles for stains, debris, or existing damage prior to customer return, reporting issues immediately.
• Keep wash bays, detail bays, and service drive lanes clean, organized, and free of traffic bottlenecks.
• Perform routine building, shop, and lot upkeep (including garbage clearing, oil spill cleanup, and hazard removal).
• Identify and report lot merchandising needs or facility issues directly to management.

What are the must-haves…

• Interest in automotive industry, and knowledgeable about vehicles
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles
• Experience working with cleaning products and cleaning tools including power washers is an asset
• Must be dependable, reliable,possessa strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively

Compensation

The expected range of compensation for this position is $18.75 – $21 Hourly — No bonus. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
