St James Volkswagen Ltd in Winnipeg is seeking an Automotive Service Lot Attendant to transport customers and dealership personnel, and to clean interiors and exteriors of vehicles owned by customers and those in inventory. The role requires physical capability to maneuver around, under, and inside vehicles to complete detailing to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Transporting customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Support daily organization and parking of vehicles for sale and service.
• Inspect vehicles for stains, debris and damages and report issues.
• Assist with service write-ups, tagging of customer cars, and shop clean-up.
• Clean exteriors and interiors, including seasonal cleaning (e.g., snow removal).
• Identify merchandising needs and place signage on vehicles.

Your area of focus.

In this position, theAutomotive Service LotAttendantwill be responsible for transporting customers as needed, cleaningthe interior and exterior of vehicles owned by customers and those that will beplaced into inventory. Success in this role will require someone who has thephysical capabilities to effectively maneuver around, under, and inside thevehicle to ensure a thorough and satisfactory detail has been completed.

What drives your day-to-day?

• Transporting customers and dealership personnel, as needed
• Building and grounds maintenance as needed
• Service and Sales Department duties
• Daily Organization and parking of vehicles for saleand service department
• Remove vehicle protective coverings and ID tags prior to returning completed vehicle to customer
• Inspect vehicles for stains,debrisand damages before returning the vehicle to the customer, and report any damageimmediately
• Assist with service write-ups and tagging of customer cars and trucks
• Assistwith shop clean-up and deliveries when needed
• Cleaning off vehicle exteriors based on seasonal needs (i.e.snow removal)
• Identifyany lot merchandising needs or issues to theappropriate manager
• Placing signage in and on vehiclesfor advertising purposes
• Monitoring and organizing vehicles daily based on their progress in the reconditioning process

What arethe must-haves…

• High school diploma or GED
• Interest in automotive industry, and knowledgeable about vehicles
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles
• Experience working with cleaning products and cleaning tools including power washers is an asset
• Must be dependable, reliable,possessa strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively
