Job summary

Wood Automotive Group is seeking a dedicated Lot Attendant to keep our Calgary-area dealership lot organized and presentable. You will wash and prep vehicles, stage them for customers, and maintain overall lot appearance throughout the year in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities include moving and parking vehicles, performing regular lot checks, and assisting with inventory placement and vehicle merchandising.

Qualifications

  • Must have Alberta Class 5 driver's license.
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and Saturdays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks outdoors.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of vehicles and the lot.
  • Wash, clean, and prepare vehicles for customers.
  • Keep sales lot clean, organized, and professional in appearance.
  • Move, park, and arrange vehicles for efficient lot usage.
  • Retrieve and stage vehicles for customers and test drives.
  • Report vehicle damage or concerns to management.
  • Perform lot checks to ensure vehicles are parked and secured.
  • Change and install license plates as needed.
  • Assist with receiving new and used inventory and place vehicles correctly.
  • Monitor fuel levels and assist with fueling vehicles as required.
  • Assist with winter snow removal and safe access to the lot.
  • Handle and store keys according to procedures.
  • Support sales team with locating and moving vehicles.
  • Ensure vehicles are displayed and presented properly.

Job description

The Wood Automotive Group, one of Alberta's largest automobile retailers for over 40 years, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Lot Attendant to join our Advantage Ford team!

Primary Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of vehicles and the dealership lot
  • Wash, clean, and prepare vehicles to ensure they are presentable and ready for customers
  • Ensure the sales lot and surrounding sales areas are clean, organized, and professional in appearance
  • Safely move, park, and arrange vehicles in assigned spaces to maximize lot efficiency and maintain an organized inventory
  • Retrieve and stage vehicles for customers, sales appointments, test drives, and vehicle deliveries as required
  • Monitor vehicles for damage, blemishes, cleanliness, and other concerns, and report issues to management
  • Perform regular lot checks to ensure vehicles are properly parked, secured, and accounted for
  • Change and install licence plates and dealer plates as required
  • Assist with receiving new and used vehicle inventory and ensuring vehicles are placed in the appropriate locations
  • Maintain vehicle fuel levels and assist with fueling vehicles as required
  • Assist with snow removal, clearing vehicles, and maintaining safe access to the sales lot and vehicles during winter months
  • Ensure vehicle keys are handled, stored, and returned according to dealership procedures
  • Assist the sales team with locating, moving, and preparing vehicles as needed
  • Support vehicle merchandising by ensuring vehicles are properly displayed and presentation standards are maintained
  • Safely operate dealership and customer vehicles while on dealership property and when required off-site
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Follow all dealership safety procedures and immediately report any hazards, vehicle damage, or incidents
  • Provide general support to the sales department and other dealership departments as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, upbeat, and customer-focused attitude
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year
  • Ability to safely lift, lower, carry, and move light to moderately heavy items (up to 50lbs)
  • Ability to safely operate a variety of vehicles, including cars, SUVs, and trucks
Requirements
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Current and clean driver’s abstract
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required, including evenings and Saturdays
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
