Job summary

Longview Logistics ltd in Winnipeg is seeking a Class 1 truck driver to operate and transport goods across routes. You will plan trips, inspect vehicles, and ensure cargo safety, while maintaining compliance with hours of service.

The role requires a high school diploma and is asset with prior driving experience. This on-site, permanent position offers mileage-based pay and 40-50 hour weeks in English-speaking work environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan routes using GPS to minimize fuel consumption.
• Address customers' complaints or concerns.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods.
• Inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel use.
• Tarp and secure cargo for transport.

Tasks

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
• Address customers' complaints or concerns
• Professionalism in customer service
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform brake adjustments
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
