Job summary

Classic Freight Transport seeks a truck driver for long-haul and cross-border routes. You will plan routes with GPS, load and unload goods, and maintain compliance across on-road operations. Strong customer service and safety focus are essential.

The role involves extensive driving, vehicle inspections, daily logs, and close coordination with dispatch while travel may be international and over extended periods. Valid Class 1 license and air brakes are required.

Qualifications

• Air Brakes Endorsement required.
• Driver's License (Class 1 or A) required.
• Experience with long-haul and cross-border travel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes using GPS to minimize fuel and emissions.
• Address customers' complaints or concerns.
• Professionalism in customer service.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Inspect vehicle and equipment (tires, lights, brakes, etc.).
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
• Relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo info, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel consumption.
• Tarp cargo and ensure safety and security.

Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
• Address customers' complaints or concerns

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
