Job summary

Gpex Transport Inc. is seeking a truck driver to operate straight or articulated trucks and transport goods across varying routes. The role involves planning routes, loading and unloading, and maintaining equipment to ensure safe, efficient deliveries.

Frequent travel is required, with attention to cargo safety, fuel-efficient driving, and proactive roadside problem-solving. A valid Class 1/1F/A licence and Air Brakes Endorsement are preferred.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• Experience on the road is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using GPS or other navigation devices to minimize fuel use and emissions.
• Address customers' complaints or concerns.
• Maintain professionalism in customer service.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Conduct pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
