Job summary

Balodis Inc. in Halifax, NS, is seeking a dedicated truck driver to join our on-site fleet. You will load and unload goods, operate straight and articulated trucks, and ensure cargo is secured and delivered safely.

You must have a secondary school diploma, 2–3 years of experience, plus Air Brakes Endorsement and Class 1 license. This role is on-site with standard dispatch communications and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation is required.
• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in trucking is expected.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
• Communicate with passengers, dispatchers or other drivers using two-way radio systems.
