Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Inventory Specialist to execute cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy and on-time fulfillment; drive continuous improvement in operations.
  • Ensure compliance with CFIA and food safety regulations; supervise safety and quality programs.
  • Oversee fleet operations including dispatch, route efficiency, and driver performance; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize telematics data to improve safety, accountability, and cost control; support maintenance programs.

Description

General Description:

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations and company fleet activities. This role leads the warehouse team directly and manages the Fleet Supervisor, who oversees distribution drivers and day-to-day fleet operations; ensures alignment between warehousing, distribution, and sales fleet activities, driving operational efficiency, safety, compliance, and service excellence. As a key Business Central (ERP) user, this role ensures inventory integrity, seamless order fulfillment, and coordinated outbound logistics while maintaining full oversight of fleet performance, cost control, and regulatory compliance.

RESPONSIBILI TIES:
Warehouse Operations Leadership

Oversee all daily warehouse operations including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and put-away, ensuring adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and quality expectations.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop full-time warehouse associates through structured coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely transaction processing in Microsoft Business Central, maintaining lot and bin level integrity to support real-time inventory visibility.
  • Partner with the Inventory Specialist to execute cycle counts, physical inventories, and variance investigations, implementing corrective actions to reduce recurring discrepancies.
  • Optimize warehouse layout, bin strategies, and workflow design to improve space utilization and picking efficiency.
  • Monitor warehouse KSI’s including order accuracy, labor productivity, inventory variance, and on-time fulfillment; prepare performance reports and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with CFIA and food safety regulations, validating that all warehouse-related SOPs are implemented, followed, and regularly reviewed.
  • Oversee scheduling, timecard management, and attendance tracking using UKG, while managing vacation planning and staffing coverage strategies.
  • Provide direct leadership and accountability for the Fleet Supervisor, ensuring strong performance management, clear priorities, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Oversee distribution fleet operations including dispatch effectiveness, route efficiency, driver performance, compliance, and safety standards.
  • Review fleet KSIs such as on-time delivery, fuel usage, idle time, safety events, maintenance costs, and downtime; hold the Fleet Supervisor accountable for improvement targets.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met including ELD compliance, driver hours of service, vehicle inspections, and transportation safety standards.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs, capital planning, licensing, and vendor relationships for fleet servicing and repairs.
  • Support accident investigations, safety reviews, and corrective action plans related to fleet incidents.
  • Ensure effective use of telematics platforms (e.g., Samsara), leveraging data to drive safety, accountability, and cost control.
Cross-Functional & Strategic Responsibilities
  • Align warehouse and fleet operations to ensure seamless pick, stage, load, and delivery workflows.
  • Support budgeting and cost management across labor, fleet maintenance, fuel, and capital expenditures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, system utilization, route optimization, and operational scalability.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence across warehouse and fleet teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, or transportation operations.
  • Proven experience managing supervisors or cross-functional operational teams.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Business Central.
  • Experience overseeing fleet operations, transportation compliance, and maintenance programs.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse best practices including inventory control, lot tracking, and bin management.
  • Experience with telematics systems and fleet management platforms considered an asset.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational cost controls.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certified forklift operator and WHMIS certification preferred.
  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
