Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CITT or CIFFA certifications are considered a strong asset.
  • Three to five years of transportation coordination and logistics experience.
  • Proficiency in Transportation Management System (TMS) platforms and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

Logistics Coordinator (Full-Time)

The TransX Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator to join our Sales & Marketing department in Winnipeg. Reporting directly to the Director of Logistics USA, the Logistics Coordinator manages transportation activities from booking to confirmed delivery, ensuring shipments meet cost, quality, and service standards.

The primary objective of this role is to connect pricing and operational activities, coordinate smooth dispatch execution, resolve service or documentation issues, and deliver an exceptional customer experience to support business growth and network reliability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Customer Coordination & Service Execution: Coordinate shipment details between customers, carriers, and internal teams. Confirm bookings, rate approvals, and delivery schedules while providing proactive communication on shipment status, changes, and timely delivery confirmations.
  • Dispatch & Transportation Planning: Schedule and monitor daily shipments according to customer priorities using our TMS. Assign carriers based on performance, cost, and availability, and address delays or exceptions to maintain service reliability.
  • Rate & Quote Coordination: Prepare accurate customer quotes using approved rate structures and validate pricing with carriers. Maintain updated rate files and support the Sales team with bid submissions, renewals, and pricing requests.
  • Carrier Relations & Performance Follow-Up: Communicate service expectations, gather carrier feedback, and maintain updated contact and compliance records. Resolve billing, service, or scheduling discrepancies to drive carrier reliability.
  • Cost Accuracy & Service Reporting: Verify shipment costs to ensure billing accuracy. Track, analyze, and report weekly key performance metrics (e.g., on-time pickup/delivery, load coverage, quote accuracy) for both customers and carriers. Identify variances and recommend corrective actions. Prepare weekly reports summarizing service and cost trends.
  • Process Optimization & Team Support: Review daily operational workflows to suggest efficiency improvements. Maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assist with team training, and support cross-functional process alignment.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. CITT or CIFFA certifications are considered a strong asset.
  • Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in transportation coordination and logistics support. Prior experience in sales or customer service within the transportation industry is preferred.
  • Technical & Functional Knowledge: Proficiency in Transportation Management System (TMS) platforms and Microsoft Excel. Solid understanding of carrier rates, logistics workflows, and North American geography.
  • Soft Skills & Competencies: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking capabilities. Proven problem-solving, data analysis, and customer service abilities in a fast-paced environment.
