Job summary

Linear Logistics Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta seeks a Logistics Coordinator to apply their passion for customer service to move freight across all modes.

You will build relationships, arrange shipments with carriers, negotiate rates, grow carrier options, and ensure on-time deliveries while keeping customers informed. On-site role; 1–2 years in transportation/logistics and proficiency with Excel are expected.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or currently pursuing a supply chain or logistics degree.
• 1–2 years experience in transportation or logistics, 3rd party freight brokerage preferred.
• Transportation, supply chain and trucking knowledge required.
• On-site work required; no hybrid option.

Responsibilities

• Build quality relationships with customers by learning their needs and exceeding expectations.
• Arrange shipments with partner carriers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Negotiate favorable, but fair rates and develop carrier partnerships.
• Proactively search out new carriers to increase the carrier base.
• Make pick-up and delivery appointments, track shipments daily, provide updates.
• Ensure prompt collection of proof of delivery documentation for invoicing.

The Logistics Coordinator will apply their passion for customer service to facilitate the movement of all types of freight across all modes of transportation.

Key Accountabilities

• Help grow the business by building quality relationships with customers through learning their needs, and consistently exceeding their expectations.
• Arranging customer’s shipments with partner carriers to ensure efficient transportation and on time delivery.
• Negotiating favorable, but fair rates and developing partnerships with carriers.
• Proactively search out new carriers in order to increase our carrier base and develop better options for customer’s shipments.
• Making pick-up and delivery appointments, tracking and tracing every shipment daily and providing updates to customers.
• Ensure prompt collection of proof of delivery documentation to support invoicing process.

Education and Experience

• Post-Secondary Education or currently working on supply chain or logistics degree or designation.
• 1-2 Years experience in Transportation, Supply Chain and specifically 3rd Party Freight Brokerage preferred.
• Transportation, Supply Chain and trucking knowledge is required.
• On-site work is required, work from home/hybrid work setting is not available.
