Creston & District Credit Union is hiring a Commercial Account Manager in Creston, BC. You will manage a diverse SME loan portfolio up to $2.5 million, acting as a trusted financial partner to local businesses across the Creston Valley.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial lending, credit analysis, risk management, or business banking experience.
• Valid BC driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for local travel.
• Strong familiarity with the Kootenay region’s economic drivers (timber, tourism/accommodation, retail).
• Advanced risk & delinquency management and credit review capabilities.
• Experience with CGI core banking software is a significant asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous credit reviews for SME loan packages up to $2.5 million using mortgages, equipment financing, lines, and term loans.
• Evaluate corporate financial health across sectors, including seasonal cash flows and asset depreciation.
• Prepare thorough credit applications and present risk-mitigated loan recommendations within limits.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and AML regulations.
• Carry out annual reviews and ongoing risk assessments to detect stress signs.
• Monitor account performance using CGI tools and assess borrower risk.
• Manage delinquencies and develop workout strategies to minimize losses.
