Job summary

Emterra Group in Quesnel, BC, is hiring a hands-on Class 3 Driver / Recycling Collector to join the local team. You will collect residential recyclables, operate trucks with air brakes, and complete daily routes with safety and professionalism.

The role requires a Class 3 license with air brake endorsement, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Local work, competitive wages, and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Class 3 license with air brake endorsement.
• Clean driving record (provide abstract dated within last 5 days).
• 2+ years driving experience preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle manual collection tasks.
• Ability to establish professional relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Punctual, reliable, team player.
• Experience in waste/recycling or a related industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 3 motor vehicles with air brakes.
• Complete daily collection routes on schedule.
• Safely collect residential recycle blue boxes.
• Perform curbside residential recycling collection – lifting, carrying, loading material into the truck hopper.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete related documentation.
• Effectively communicate with Route Supervisor regarding route issues.
• Deliver the recycling to the recycling processing facility.
• Work Tuesday to Friday (4–6 days/month in Prince George; transportation provided).
• Provide a professional collection service and promote a positive company image.
• Observe safe work practices.
• Perform other related duties as required.
