Job summary

Emterra Group is seeking a capable equipment operator/driver to safely and efficiently operate Class 1 and/or 3 motor vehicles with air brakes in Vernon, BC. You will follow the collection schedule, perform curbside recycling, and document daily vehicle checks while communicating with supervision as needed.

The role requires at least 2 years of driving experience with the appropriate license, a clean abstract, and the ability to work overtime.

Qualifications

• Requires Class 1 and / or 3 with air brake endorsement.
• Must have clean driver’s abstract.
• Minimum 2 years working experience driving with required license preferred.
• The ability to work overtime on an “as‑needed” basis is required.
• Good command of the English language (both verbal and written).
• Experience in the waste and recycling industry – an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of Class 1 and/ or 3 motor vehicles with air brakes.
• Conduct all activities according to the collection schedule.
• Perform curbside recycling collection meeting contract requirements.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and complete related documentation.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding concerns or suggestions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
