Bandstra Transportation Systems Ltd. is hiring a Local 5-Ton Driver based in Dawson Creek, BC. The role runs Monday to Friday from 7am-5pm with occasional Saturdays, delivering and picking up cargo across Western Canada.

The ideal candidate has a valid Class 5 licence, 2+ years of commercial driving experience, strong safety awareness, and excellent customer service skills. RRSP matching and stock purchase plans are part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 licence; Air Brake Endorsement is an asset, but not required.
• Driver's abstract must show clean record in specified windows.
• Pre-employment screening required.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable interacting with customers and providing great service.
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience.
• Knowledge of National Safety Code Cargo Securement Standard 10 preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient in English reading and writing.

Responsibilities

• Local pickup and delivery with a 5 Ton truck.
• Loading/unloading with forklift as needed.
• Maintain high safety standards and be safety-conscious.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections.
• Complete forms and paperwork as required.
• Complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Job Summary:

We are currently accepting resumes for an experienced Local 5-Ton Driver based from our Dawson Creek, BC terminal, driving for the day shift operating from Monday-Friday 7am-5pm with occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities:

A typical day in this role includes:

• Local pickup and delivery work with a 5 Ton truck equipped with Power Tail Gate.
• Loading and unloading trucks and trailers with a forklift as needed
• Proactively adhering to a high standard of safety and be safety conscious
• Conduct pre-trip inspections
• Complete forms and paperwork as required
• Completing work & tasks under minimal supervision

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role:

• Must have a valid Class 5 licence. Air Brake Endorsement is an asset, but not required.
• Must submit a driver's abstract must show no driving-related criminal code convictions in the prior 36 months; no more than 2 moving violations in the prior 12 months; and no more than 3 moving violations in the prior 36 months. The date of conviction and the current date will be the date used to determine time periods
• Must pass a pre-employment screening
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Should be comfortable interacting with customers and providing great customer service
• Has 2+ years of experience in commercial driving
• Preferably knows the National Safety Code Cargo Securement Standard 10
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Is proficient in English, both in reading and writing
