Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a LoanIQ Chief Functional Analyst to bridge business and IT in Global Corporate Investment Banking. You will analyze processes, document requirements, and translate needs into detailed specs for developers and vendors.

You will support LoanIQ enhancements, testing, releases, and incident management, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

  • University diploma in a related field and minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Systems Analyst supporting enterprise or financial services applications
  • Experience in managing processes and business requirements
  • Proven experience in functional and technical analysis in delivering large-scale projects
  • Experience with test scenarios and support for users
  • Knowledge of LoanIQ, lending processes, SQL, reporting, data analysis, incident management and UAT are preferred
  • Demonstrate proficiency with SQL
  • Experience in agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, safe) and knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Ability to think strategically, with analytical, synthesis and communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and effective management of priorities.

  • Understand the strategy, issues and operational reality of the business lines to guide IT teams in developing efficient solutions
  • Perform complex analyses, identify gaps and make recommendations to optimize system efficiency and resolve problems
  • Document requests and prepare recommendations to design or adapt systems that meet needs and facilitate decision-making
  • Produce technical and functional specifications including expected system behaviors, use cases and interactions of users with the system
  • Design diagrams to model current and target processes
  • Work with your delivery team to define acceptance criteria and plan and execute functionality tests.

A career as a LoanIQ Chief Functional Analyst in the Global Corporate Investment Banking team means playing a key role in National Bank's technological transformation, optimizing and developing business applications and information systems, while working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

You will act as the primary link between business stakeholders and technology teams. You will analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, assess the impact of proposed changes, and translate business needs into clear functional specifications and acceptance criteria for developers, integration teams and vendors.

You will support LoanIQ enhancements, reporting requirements, production incidents, testing and releases. Responsibilities include facilitating requirements workshops, analyzing functional and data issues, coordinating user acceptance testing, validating delivered solutions, maintaining process and system documentation, and supporting defect triage and root-cause analysis.
