ABOUT THE ROLE

Lafarge is seeking applications for an experienced full-time Loader Operator. You will maintain daily pit operations, report to the Plant Foreman, inspect, maintain, and operate the loader, and collaborate with personnel. Our Aggregates operations are located in Central Alberta.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  1. Operate a front-end wheel loader and perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, greasing, refueling, oil and filter changes, and fluid level checks.
  2. Maintain accurate service records for all equipment operated, including maintenance details, hours, and dates.
  3. Assist with daily plant operations and upkeep.
  4. Perform repairs and maintenance under the foreman’s or lead hand’s direction.
  5. Complete daily equipment checklists.
  6. Monitor material production to meet specifications.
  7. Ensure consistent feed for quality output.
  8. Implement best practices.
  9. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a safety culture.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years operating a loader
  • Certifications: Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Skills: Mechanically inclined
  • Travel: Within Central Alberta
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to read survey markings
  • Willingness to work overtime, shifts, including Saturdays
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Capable of heavy lifting, bending, and twisting
  • Adherence to safety protocols and PPE use, including being clean-shaven for respirator fit tests
