Job summary

Taggart Construction Limited is hiring a Loader/Dozer Operator to operate loaders and dozers at various Ottawa-area construction sites with a start date around September 21, 2026. You will perform fine grade work and ensure equipment is well maintained and compliant with regulations.

The role requires strong experience with heavy machinery, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years experience operating heavy machinery.
• Completion of heavy equipment operator’s training course(s).
• Ability to perform fine grade work.
• Detailed focus and attention to detail.
• Physical strength to life heavy machinery and work in cramped positions.
• Open to learn new technologies and techniques.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders and dozers on various construction sites.
• Perform circle checks and maintain equipment according to policies.
• Carry out fine grade work as required.
• Operate gasoline and diesel-powered units.
• Adhere to safety policies and regulations.
• Diagnose and identify defects in heavy equipment.
• Complete work orders and timecards accurately.
• Report unsafe conditions to the supervisor promptly.
• Interact courteously with residents and the public as needed.
• Travel to sites within Ottawa area to operate machinery.
• Perform other duties as required.
