Position Summary

Little Readers Teacher/Tutor – part‑time role at Oxford Learning Kerrisdale, Vancouver, British Columbia. This position works 2–5 days per week, 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm during the school year, with optional Saturday mornings (9:00 am – 12:00 pm). It is an in‑person teaching role requiring a commute to the Kerrisdale location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
• University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification is an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten‑to‑Grade 7 curriculum
• Experience teaching or tutoring at Kindergarten‑to‑Grade 7 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and work with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three students simultaneously using proprietary materials for letter names, sounds, phonics, reading, comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and fine‑motor skills.
• Deliver lessons as an Interactive Coach following Oxford Learning methodologies.
• Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Schedule
