Mckercher-LLP in Saskatoon is seeking a Litigation Support Paraprofessional to support litigation teams with eDiscovery and document management. You will handle electronic evidence, preserve data, and assist with productions, hearings, and trial preparation.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

As a Litigation Support Paraprofessional, you will provide specialized litigation and electronic document support to litigation legal teams. You will manage electronically stored information, administer electronic workspaces, prepare productions, and support legal teams with discovery, hearings, and trial preparation. Your work will play a key role in improving the efficiency and effectiveness within the litigation practice area.

Core Responsibilities
  • Administer preservation orders, litigation hold letters (or notices), and chains-of-custody processes, including the collection and copying of electronic evidence
  • Organize, search, and review large volumes of electronic and paper documents, including relevance, privilege, duplicate identification, and quality control in accordance with best practices
  • Prepare documents for imaging, scan and code documents
  • Configure, maintain, activate, archive, and close review databases, searches, workflows, analytics, and Continuous Active Learning processes to optimize document review
  • Develop presentation materials
  • Create and edit pleadings
  • Import and export electronic documents, including the creation of load files
  • Assist with mediation, questioning, and trial preparation
  • Prepare and send correspondence to courts, clients, and experts
  • Collaborate with lawyers, staff, clients, and review teams to manage eDiscovery projects, provide technical guidance, develop review strategies, allocate resources, monitor progress, and ensure timely and accurate completion
  • Assist with troubleshooting litigation support software technical issues
  • Develop, implement, and maintain eDiscovery protocols, procedures, quality control measures, and best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance with legal standards
  • Develop and deliver training and mentorship on eDiscovery tools, techniques, and best practices
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience working with an eDiscovery database (preferred)
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to independently prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
