Job summary

Aird & Berlis LLP is seeking a floater legal assistant to support the preparation and completion of a wide range of legal documents. You will work with different lawyers across the firm, gaining exposure to diverse practice areas and valuable experience.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of litigation legal experience, familiarity with CaseCenter, and a post-secondary legal assistant or law clerk credential. Excellent organizational and client-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary level legal assistant or law clerk training completed.
• Strong MS Office skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience with litigation documents and court rules is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and completing commercial and employment litigation documents.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court and tribunal offices, and opposing counsel.
• Handle administrative tasks such as file opening/closing, docketing, and billing.
• Manage calendar and meetings while adapting to changing priorities.
• Produce high-quality work and maintain confidentiality.
