Otter Co-op in Kamloops, BC, is hiring a part-time Liquor Store Associate for the Angry Otter Liquor at Valleyview. You will deliver friendly customer service, process transactions, balance cash, stock and rotate shelves, and help receive deliveries.

The role requires Liquor Retail experience, Serving It Right, and a willingness to work mornings, afternoons and evenings. You must be 19 or older and physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Liquor retail experience is preferred.
• Serving It Right certification is required.
• WSET 1 accreditation is required within first year.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service to guests.
• Process register transactions, refunds, and returns; activate gift cards.
• Balance register drawer at end of shift following procedures.
• Stock, face, and rotate products on shelves.
• Receive and check deliveries; put away stock.
• Keep store and storage areas clean and organized.
• Promote products using product knowledge.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Liquor Store Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

• Provide excellent customer service to guests in a courteous, efficient manner
• Process register transactions, refunds, and returns, activate gift cards
• Ensure register drawer is balanced at the end of shift following company procedures
• Stock, face, and rotate products on the shelves
• Receive, check, and put away deliveries
• Keep store and storage areas clean and organized
• Utilize product knowledge to promote sales
• Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
• Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are:

• WSET 1 minimum accreditation is required to be obtained within the first year of employment
• Ability to physically lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and stand for full8 hourshift
• Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
• Must have reliable transportation has bus is not always reliable for all shifts
• MUST be over 19 years of age to be considered
• MUST have open availability and able to work a variety of shifts that include mornings, afternoons, and late evenings (closing shifts endingat 10pm)
• This position is based out of the Valleyview Liquor Store, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise
