Job summary

Otter Co-op is hiring a part-time Liquor Store Associate for the Valleyview location in Kamloops, BC. You will provide friendly customer service, handle transactions, stock shelves, and support deliveries while promoting products and upholding company values.

The role requires Serving it Right, WSET 1 within the first year, strong communication, a willingness to work a fast-paced environment, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be 19+ with flexible shifts, including evenings.

Qualifications

• Liquor retail experience is preferred.
• Serving it Right license is required.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Problem solver and quick learner.
• WSET 1 minimum accreditation is required to be obtained within the first year of employment.
• Ability to physically lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and stand for full 8 hour shift.
• Must be over 19 years of age to be considered.
• Must have open availability and able to work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons and late evenings (closing shifts ending at 10pm).
• Position is based at Valleyview Liquor Store, may travel to other locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to guests in a courteous, efficient manner.
• Process register transactions, refunds, and returns, activate gift cards.
• Ensure register drawer is balanced at end of shift.
• Stock, face, and rotate products on the shelves.
• Receive, check, and store deliveries.
• Keep store and storage areas clean and organized.
• Utilize product knowledge to promote sales.
• Contribute to the team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Liquor Store Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

• Provide excellent customer service to guests in a courteous, efficient manner
• Process register transactions, refunds, and returns, activate gift cards

• This position is based out of the Valleyview Liquor Store, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise
