Job summary

Nortera in Ontario is seeking a Packaging Technician to operate and troubleshoot packaging lines, and to train and guide Packaging Technicians to maintain production targets.

The role requires 1-2 years in manufacturing, strong mechanical aptitude, and solid computer, communication, and organizational skills. Expect lifting up to 50 lbs and adherence to HACCP, GMP, and food safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of packaging equipment and basic troubleshooting skills.
• 1-2 years of related experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong computer, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and changing priorities and work independently.
• Regular lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling up to 50lbs.
• A builder of teams and positive work environments.

Responsibilities

• Be trained and required to operate different types of machinery to complete tasks.
• Train and provide direction to Packaging Technicians to maintain production targets.
• Organize and complete effective and efficient changeovers.
• Troubleshoot packaging equipment and perform preventative maintenance when required.
• Communicate effectively with Operations Leaders to maintain production.
• Work in compliance with Safety, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety protocols; report concerns to supervisor.

Your Daily Role

• Be trained and required to operate different types of machinery in order to effectively complete required tasks;

• Organize and complete effective and efficient changeovers;
• Troubleshoot packaging equipment and perform preventative maintenance when required;
• Communicating effectively with Operations Leaders to maintain production;
• Working in compliance with established Safety, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety protocols, reporting all concerns to your supervisor
