Job summary

Compass Group Canada in Toronto is seeking a Cook to prepare, pre-cook and cook food in line with corporate standards and health & safety guidelines. You’ll set up mise en place, label and rotate stock, and communicate with operations to ensure top-quality service.

The role offers an hourly wage of $28.20 with benefits and opportunities for growth within Canada’s largest food service company. Canadian work experience not required.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience in restaurant or prep cook roles.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
• Excellent understanding of cooking methods and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and cook food as directed.
• Set up mise en place for high-volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment per safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverages.
• Communicate with operations and report issues.
