Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare, pre-cook and cook food in line with policies and high standards of quality and safety. The role requires mise en place and efficient production for high-volume service, and adherence to health and safety guidelines.

The successful candidate will have proven cooking experience, a Food Safety Certification, and a recognized cooking school certificate, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience, including restaurant or prep cook roles.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food as directed.
• Prepare mise en place for high-volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment per health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food items.
• Communicate with other departments.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
