Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook food in line with corporate standards and regulations, ensuring high-quality service at all times. The role is hourly with pay around $20.00 per hour, with compensation based on skills and experience.

You will maintain mise en place, follow safety policies, label and store products properly, and collaborate with other departments. The position offers competitive total rewards and may involve AI-assisted screening in recruitment.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
• Food Safety Certification is an asset.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Physically able to carry out the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare mise en place for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use per health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products.
• Communicate effectively with operational departments.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents to the supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
