Job summary

Adecco Canada is hiring a part-time Line Cook in Trenton, ON to join a fast-paced culinary team where every day brings a new challenge. You will support meal preparation, food production, and kitchen operations for a large onsite dining program, focusing on fresh ingredients and high standards of cleanliness.

Minimum 1 year cooking experience outside fast food is required, plus a Valid Safe Food Handlers Certification.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a restaurant, catering, banquet, or institutional kitchen (not fast food).
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and cross-contamination prevention.
  • Proven ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation & Cooking: Washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting fruits and vegetables; preparing fresh salads and assembling premade meal options; portioning meats and ingredients; using grills, fryers, ovens, ranges, and stovetops; ensuring safety and quality.
  • Kitchen Operations: Maintaining a spotless workspace, cleaning surfaces and equipment, replenishing ingredients, and supporting kitchen flow during peak periods.
  • General Support: Following all food safety guidelines and assisting team members for efficient meal production.

Adecco is currently hiring a part-time energetic and motivated Line Cook to join a fast‑paced, hands‑on culinary team where every day brings something new in Trenton ON. You will support meal preparation, food production, and kitchen operations for a large‑scale onsite dining program.   • Pay Rate: $19.00/hour

  • Location: Trenton, ON

  • Schedule: Early Shift: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM | Late Shift: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

  • Job type: Temporary|Part-time | must be available Weekday and weekend shifts

Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting fruits and vegetables

  • Preparing fresh salads and assembling premade meal options such as sandwiches

  • Portioning meats, vegetables, and ingredients for daily service

  • Using grills, fryers, oven ranges, and stovetops to cook hot meals

  • Ensuring all food items meet safety, freshness, and quality standards

Kitchen Operations

  • Maintaining a spotless and organized workspace to avoid cross‑contamination

  • Cleaning kitchen surfaces, food prep areas, and equipment throughout the day

  • Replenishing ingredients, stock, and supplies during service

  • Supporting kitchen flow during peak periods and special events

General Support

  • Following all food safety guidelines, hygiene standards, and operational procedures

  • Assisting team members to ensure efficient meal production

  • Upholding organization policies and contributing to a positive team environment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a restaurant, catering, banquet, or institutional kitchen (experience must be outside of fast food)

  • Valid Safe Food Handlers Certification (or provincial equivalent)

  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and cross‑contamination prevention

  • Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment such as grill tops, fryers, ovens, ranges, and prep tools

  • Demonstrated ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and production standards

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs as required

  • Reliable, punctual

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
