Job description

Head Chef at Carleton Golf and Yatch Club

Located along the banks of the Rideau River just minutes from downtown Ottawa, the Carleton Golf & Yacht Club is a member-owned 12-month private facility. CGYC is known for its outstanding course conditions, friendly atmosphere, and an unwavering commitment to providing an unforgettable member & guest experience. In recent years, Carleton hosted the Canadian Men's Mid-Amateur Championship, PGA of Canada Seniors' Championship, and numerous regional Championships.

The Club's facilities include an 18-hole championship course, indoor and outdoor dining facilities (with a riverfront view!), beverage cart services, on-course halfway house, and an indoor golf simulator room.

We are seeking experienced line/prep cooks to support our à la carte and event F&B services. Reporting to the Head Chef, successful candidates will work closely with the entire food & beverage team with the goal of delivering a memorable dining experience for our members and guests.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing food preparation served from the main kitchen.
  2. Executing the prep and cooking of menu items, recipes, and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality.
  3. Working with the team to accommodate customers with special diets/food allergies.
  4. Collaborating with staff and management for special events.
  5. Supporting receiving, stocking, and food inventory processes.
  6. Maintaining a sanitary kitchen in accordance with food & beverage, health, and safety regulations.
  7. Ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  8. Interpreting and enforcing CGYC policies, rules, and regulations.
  9. Previous experience in the golf industry and/or in a premium hospitality environment is an asset.
