Job summary

Wolfcreek seeks a part-time Educational Assistant (0.50 FTE) for the Lifeskills program in Ponoka, Alberta. You will support neurodivergent students with individualized goals, implement modified plans, and assist teachers with behavioral strategies and functional life skills activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with complex needs
• Knowledge of speech and behavior modification strategies would be considered an asset
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Expereince working in a Lifeskills program would be considered an asset
• Ability to foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment that promotes student independence and confidence
• Ability to provide one-on-one and group supports tailored to individual student needs
• Collaborate with teachers, specialized staff, and families to support student success
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive personality
• Calm and patient approach to solving problems
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented learning environment
• Ability to work one on one with a student in an inclusive environment
• Experience and/or training as an Educational Assistant would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Assisting classroom, teachers in implementing modified learning plans, behavioral support strategies, and functional life skills activities
• Supporting neurodivergent students in their individual learning and personal goals within the Lifeskills program
• Collaborate with teachers, specialized staff, and families to support student success
• Provide one-on-one and small-group supports tailored to individual student needs
• Foster a safe, inclusive environment and promote student independence and confidence
