CivicInfo BC is seeking a Lifeguard/Instructor for the Municipality of North Cowichan on a part-time, temporary basis until December 14, 2026. The role is 20+ hours per week, focusing on safe aquatic programs for the public.

The successful candidate will have lifeguard and instructor certifications, strong safety awareness and the ability to work weekends, evenings and shift work in a unionized municipal setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of age and Grade 10 completion.
• Certifications: National Lifeguard - Pool Option, Lifesaving Instructor, Standard First Aid, Swim Instructor.
• Experience with Windows-based systems and office programs.
• Knowledge of water safety, rescue, and aquatic program delivery.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, nights, and shift work.
• Medical certificate may be required.

Responsabilités

• Provide feedback and direction to casual Lifeguards.
• Scheduling based on operational needs and collective agreement.
• Deliver a wide range of aquatic programs, services and events.
• Maintain safety standards and assist in facility operations.
