Job summary

The City of Belleville is seeking Lifeguards for temporary part-time positions at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre in Belleville. You will supervise swimmers and ensure patron safety during aquatic programs.

Applicants must be at least 15, hold Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certification and Standard First Aid with CPR-C (AED acceptable). A Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector is required prior to commencing work; shifts vary including weekdays, weeknights and weekends.

Qualifications

• CRC with VSC is required before starting
• Minimum age 15 years old
• Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certification required
• Standard First Aid with CPR-C (or equivalent) is required
• CPR-C and AED certification is preferred
• Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor cert is a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain vigilance and safety supervision of all participants
• Work in a team to ensure safety and quality of programs
• Attend scheduled training and development sessions
• Provide a positive customer service experience and address concerns
• Report incidents to supervisor
• Provide first aid and document as needed
• Complete administrative tasks and maintain workspace
• Perform additional duties as assigned
